The year was 1985, the place was the world famous Apollo Theater in New York City, and the sound revolutionized American popular music. At the time, Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell could not have imagined how their musical machismo would shape the next 25 years of hip hop culture. If I had a time machine, I would go back to ‘85 and warn Doc Brown about the Libyan terrorists.
