“Let It Roll” — Little Feat
A friend responded to the news that this year’s headliners include David Byrne, Elvis Costello, and Emmylou Harris by proclaiming, “That’s not bluegrass!”. Hopefully, most of you, like him, are starting to catch on to the worst kept secret about Telluride Bluegrass Festival: it’s not really a bluegrass festival. Sure, they book a lot of bluegrass bands, but if you’re expecting four days of traditional Bill Monroe music, you might want to throw that pass up on craigslist right now and save yourself the trip. I don’t think too many music lovers were complaining on Sunday, June 19, 1988 when Little Feat decided to bring their comeback tour to Town Park. There’s more Telluride magic at It’s Great To Be Alive.
